Toshiba laptop refuses to POST with no display output

Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with my Toshiba Satellite L305-S5955. I know it's an older model laptop but I need it for specific purposes so I'm not looking to upgrade (I do have a newer laptop). The specs are as follows: -Celeron 900 (2.2GhZ?) -2GB DDR2 ram -160GB HDD (winxp sp3 installed, verified working)

Basically, I had it in storage for a few months (dry, climate controlled, battery pulled) and when I try to start it up now it refuses to POST or display anything on the screen at all. Here's what does work: -Battery appears to charge -fans come on -lights work (power, drive activity, etc) -DVD drive chirps on startup (as it always has) -keyboard functions (lights and other)

The screen never gets to bios, never displays anything. I have tried an external monitor with the same results, although it does recognize a vga connection, just no signal. I have pulled battery/ac and held power button for 1min, no result. (other than an occasional very short flash of white on the screen, barely visible). I've pulled the CMOS and reseated to no effect. The hard drive never seems to spin up past maybe a second of initial activity on power-on but it tested good as is the ram. I really want to get this working for personal reasons so any help would be appreciated. I can solder and know how to disassemble a laptop, just not sure where to start. Any help would be highly appreciated!
