Need Help With My Gaming PC Build

I am in the process of upgrading my computer and i just bought two new parts for my build. An MSI Gaming X Gtx 1080 Ti, and a G3 750w psu from evga. My current specs are... (CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 1600x) (Motherboard - Asus b350 Gaming motherboard AM4) (Ram - 16GB ddr4 2400mhz ram from crucial) (Storage - 1TB HDD from western digital) (Video Card - MSI Gaming X GTX 1080 Ti) (Case - Thermaltake Soprano) (PSU - EVGA G3 750W gold)

So i built this on pc part picker and had no issues or incompatibility's. But some of my friends are saying that " You cant just slap together some cheap crap with a 1080ti" and i asked him why but he wont reply and i just want a professionals view or opinion on why he may or may not be true with his statement. Thank You
