My computer froze entirely in the middle of me drawing.

It made this staggering noice, paused my mbmbam podcast and left me with a pixelated closeup of a drawn eye. Nothing is happening when I hit the keyboard, I can't see the cursor and the clock shows 19:11. It's now 19:23. The buttons on the computer work and I can turn it off but I'm 95% sure I'll lose my progress. Do I have to just hit it or is there any tricks I can do to even wake the keyboard up so I can crtl+s my way to safety?
