PC Hard Freezes when under load.
Specs
- MB: Asus Maximus VI Hero
- CPU: I5-4670k Haswell Quad Core 3.4hmz
- RAM: 2x4g G.Skill Ripsaw PC3 12800 DDR3 1600 (Two sets 16g total)
- PSU: Seasonic 750w ss-750km3
- SSD: Seagate
- HDD: 2tb WD Black WD2003FZEX
- VC: EVGA Geforce GTX960
- Running Windows 10
Issue:
PC Randomly Hard Freeze when under use. Duplicte PC (same specs but SSD and diffrent case) no issue. Only way to recover is to hard reboot. PC will not auto recover
Trouble shooting steps taken:
- Running Prime 95 with only CPU Causes no freeze up; Running Blend with Ram the PC freezes after 5-10 mins.
- Running MEMtest86 can cause memtest to freeze.
- Swapped Ram from good PC to Bad PC and Bad PC still has same issue (not a ram problem then).
- Attempted to underclock ram (1333 and 1400).
- Attempted to limit volage to ram (limit 1.5)
- Tried Ram in alternate slots (1-3 or 2-4).
- Updated BIO on MB, Cleared CMOS on MB.
- Reset MB by removing Battery.
- Windows Does not find a error just a Unexpected restart.
- No overheating problems. HWmon shows temps in the 80c when freezeing.
- PC does not freeze unless underload.
- Reseated all cables and plugs on the MB aside from re-seating CPU.
- Tried to run without Case connections and still freezes.
- MB has a "Q-Code" LED and when it locks up the LED does not change.
I am running out of ideas here. Should I just assume that the MB is going bad?
