Could my phone be somehow causing my wifi to completely disconnect from every device in the house?

I purchased a pretty decent speed, and for about a year I've been plagued by this issue where randomly it will cut out and either go "limited" or the signal will totally disappear. Usually only happens once every few hours, but its gotten significantly worse.

Yesterday my wife went to a thing and I was working on my pc all day from 1pm - 2 am. Not a single disconnect all day. As soon as she got home it started disconnecting me every few minutes.

Is it possible her phone is doing this? Its the only device she took with her. My theory is her phone is constantly searching via wifi for GPS updates, facebook, instagram, etc updates, and this is causing a ton of traffic over our router. I know GPS doesnt require wifi, but she has it set so it uses wifi for a more accurate signal.
