Budget upgrades to my five year old gaming laptop

Hello,

I have this laptop with the following specs:

*Intel Core i7 2nd Gen 2670QM (2.20 GHz) *8 GB Memory 500 GB HDD *NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M *1920 x 1080

I really dont play any recent games besides maybe Overwatch, WoW, Diablo 3 and Civ5 and i'd like a bit of an FPS boost (OW goes from 20 to 40).

Would going to 16GB ram help in any way? I expect to buy a new laptop next year I just wanna survive an extra year
