GetPopularSoftware: I gave my Nexus 5x over for repair. The tech called, saying that they need my PIN to fix the phone. I asked them to wipe the phone first. They refused because after a wipe, they'd need a gmail account to access the phone all over again. Is this reasonable?

I gave my Nexus 5x over for repair. The tech called, saying that they need my PIN to fix the phone. I asked them to wipe the phone first. They refused because after a wipe, they'd need a gmail account to access the phone all over again. Is this reasonable?

I've got quite a bit of data on that phone, don't like others looking at it.
