how can i make a playlist on my iphone and how to play it

so like most people my New Year's resolution is to lose weight /get in better shape. I had this great idea that I could go to walmart and get an Ipod , the put songs on it to listen to while walking.

The guy at Walmart said they don't make Ipods any more and they did not have any, that everyone just uses their cell phone.

I have an Iphone 6.

How can I make a playlist of songs I like, to play on my iphone?

I need to be able to start the playlist then walk and not be going to each individual song like on youtube.

If you could make the directions as simple as possible and please do not assume I know what to do I would appreciate it.

I want to be able to push one button/app on my phone and have the playlist play if possible.
