Facebook is forcing me to download their anti-virus?

Today I woke up to a warning message when I tried to log in to my Facebook account on my computer. Apparently they have found some sort of malicious software in my computer and they won't let me in unless I download their anti-virus software. Is this even legal? I mean... why would they do that even if my computer was in fact infected? It isn't: I use anti-virus and I am careful while navigating online.

I even reinstalled Google Chrome - didn't change a thing. Tried to login with Edge - same warning.

I can use facebook on my phone with no issue. Only thing I won't do is install their stupid anti-virus. Anyone with the same issue?
