Having trouble achieving max resolution with DVI to HDMI cable

Hi there!

I am trying to connect an older PC with a GTX 480 to a new Lenovo l24q10 Monitor under Windows 10.

Since the graphics card only has DVI and mini HDMI out and the monitor only has HDMI and display ports, I bought an amazon basics DVI to HDMI cable to connect them. In the resolutions menu I can only go as high as 1080p (or 1200p).

On paper it seems like all the components should work together and I tested around a bunch with different hardware - The monitor goes up to 1440p, the card can output 1440p via DVI-DL and the monitor takes 1440p via normal HDMI cable. The amazon page for the cable says it can handle up to 2160p video at 60hz (interestingly only on the UK page, on the US one are no specs).

At this point it seems to me that either the cable doesn't deliver on what it promises, or I am missing something. Does anyone have any ideas what else I could try (apart from buying an expensive active DVI to DP converter, which seems a little overkill)?

Thanks in advance!
