CPU usage goes up to 99 percent.

So is got this problem with my CPU lately. For some reason my usage is really high in idle (around 30 percent) Steam uses around 16 percent and Skype uses about the same, which is freaking weird.

During games like Rainbow Six Siege, WatchDogs 2 and Wildlands my CPU usage goes up to 99 percent and makes my frames drop insanely. For Siege it’s better now, but for the other 2 games it’s around 40 fps, which makes the games hard to play, even if I lower settings.

My boyfriend has a quite old CPU (i7 4790) and has a 1070. For him the games just run smoothly and during those games the CPU usage is around 60, which is normal. I have an i7 6700k and a 1070 and I can’t run the games properly.

What I have tried is that I reinstalled Windows (using Windows 10) and tried all kinds of fixes, like stopping Superfetch etc. Nothing works.

The only fix I have seen is buying a new CPU, but this is REALLY my last option. All those problems started after the Windows update.

Does anyone of you know how to fix this? I’m quite worried…
