Is it possible to keep my very old, non-internet-based landline?
I know that's not popular, but I've been in 2 major earthquakes and the wired landlines were the only thing that kept working during them.
(Also, the calls are much clearer, but that's not as important.)
All the DSL providers I can find insist that you switch to their "just as good!" pseudo-landline phone when you sign up for their DSL.
When your DSL goes, it means your phone's gone, too. This is no bueno.
We don't have Google fiber here yet.
Any hope?
Thanks.
