So, my 1TB HDD is pretty much DOA at this point with too many bad sectors to attempt a repair, and I'm currently in the process of cloning it over to a new HDD. What I'm wondering is, is it possible to reduced the available storage on the HDD (to maybe 500GB, per say) and continue using it as a slave drive or some sort of other auxillary storage with the remaining usable sectors? I absolutely hate just throwing away hardware if I can squeeze a bit more life out of it.
