Monitor turning on but no picture

My monitor has this problem where i am able to turn it on, but no picture shows up on screen. The weird thing is, after 3 days to about 2 weeks of not using it (the monitor), it suddenly works again, and then around 3 months later the problem appears again. I have tried using different power cables and different power outlets, but still no picture. Monitor: BenQ XL2411 Submitted September 29, 2017 at 06:16PM by TheSkovgaard http://ift.tt/2yxYfzZ

HP laptop's keyboard has stopped working, driver reinstalling doesn't seem to do anything, any suggestions?

The laptop is running Windows 10. Device Manager believes the keyboard is working properly. The mousepad is working normally. It is a month-old laptop, so this is unlikely to be from wear and tear on hardware. Submitted September 29, 2017 at 06:29PM by whatisabaggins55 http://ift.tt/2xGsqWp

Packet loss help

I just changed providers and I believe I'm having packet loss issues, but I don't have a pc at the moment to run a check. My modem allows me to run a ping test ( 50 bytes max ) but what address should I use for Nintendo and Playstation? Google.com shows everything is fine, but I definitely think otherwise. I appreciate your time and any help given. Submitted September 29, 2017 at 06:33PM by GhostProtocolGaming http://ift.tt/2xHCVJ4

Have I been scammed by tech support?

Read carefully Long story short, I did a system reset of my computer (Laptop) on Windows 10 and the next thing you know it shows me error messages and crashes to bluescreen every 5 minutes. I checked the Windows Update tab and I realised the updates were stuck at 2%. After countless of hours trying to fix it myself, I gave up and decided to try the Microsoft Support. So I used the Official Microsoft Support window and informed them of my issue. A few moments later I was already connected to a tech support guy who texted me over the support window, and sent me a link to a (what seemed like a legit) website for Microsoft tech service where I had to enter a code he gave me so he could access my laptop . I didn't download any programs for that so I suppose it was the built in screen and device sharing tool from microsoft ? Anyways after half an hour the dude gave up and transfered me to a level 2 support he called it. This time a girl texted me over the support window. She tried t...

Hard drive randomly shows up as empty (sometimes the files on it are shown but not accessible), after waking from sleep. Fixes itself after restarting

I've been pulling my hair out trying to find out the cause of this weird problem. Sometimes when my PC wakes from sleep everything on my toshiba 3tb HDD is either gone or inaccessible, windows cannot run any programs or move/read any files on it, but everything returns to normal after a restart. I'm using the hard drive as a secondary drive with an SSD as the boot drive. Smart test shows the HDD is still in very good condition. Laptop sometimes doesn't start properly battery issue

Operating System Windows 10 Computer Specs (PSU, GPU, CPU, RAM, Motherboard) Laptop: Lenovo Y580 Since this is a laptop, I don't know the details for most of the part, sorry. Here's what I do have though: GPU: GTX 660M CPU: i7 3630QM RAM: 8 GB Storage: 1 TB HDD (I think from Seagate) and 64 GB mSATA SSD from Adata that I installed about a year ago. Speccy Link N/A Description of problem Sometimes, when I hit the power button, my laptop won't start. It'll either just not do anything other than turn on the keyboard backlight for a few seconds (normal for startup), or sometimes it'll show a Lenovo logo but just freeze on that. I can usually solve the issue with a hard reset and then it usually starts up normally (except for the first time this happened, more below), but I'd like to resolve the issue permanently so I don't lose everything on my laptop. How it started:The first time this issue happened, it was after I had put my laptop to sleep and c...
